We are Parents, coaches, brothers, sisters, Aunts, Uncles, neighbors and friends of the community. We ae a group of like minded volunteers that support youth sports in West Bremerton. We have Football, Basketball and Baseball for boys and girls ages 4 to 14. For more than 50 years we have been organizing sports for the children of West Bremerton. Hundreds of kids come through our doors each year and learn life lessons such as team work, sportsmanship, honesty and that hard work can be rewarding. With positive role models like our coaches, assistant coaches and staff these kids get to have fun, be active and compete in a safe, organized sporting season every year.
On August 27th, 2008 two clubs came to one location and as a community of parents and coaches, they voted. By majority vote the merger of the West Gate Warriors and the Warren Avenue Knights was now complete. The voting continued and the choice were made, we are all Knights now. Even without the formalities that should be completed by the end of next month the teams on our field already feel that they are one. The name is less important than the feeling inside and our kids feel like a team, a community and a united club. I am proud to have been part of this historic merger and want to thank all of the West Gate parents and officers for their hard work and dedication to the kids. West Gates history is now part of us as ours is part of them. Together we will be stronger, smarter and healthier than either club could have been alone.
